260 miles on a tank of gas

Well I've tried and tried to see how far I can go on a tank of gas. Today I gassed up with 260 miles on my trip meter. I did lots of highway riding. And when I gassed up, I was only able to put 4.8 gallons in. The owner’s manual says the V Strom has a 5.8-gallon tank but I have never put more then 4.9 gallons in. I would had bet money I would have put over 5 gallons in today because I had 260 miles and both gas indicators flashing. But I still had a gallon left. I bet if I stayed on the highway I could had gone over 300 miles. I can tell you that the one time I put 4.9 gallons in I had 236 miles of all interstate riding. Therefore, you can go 30 miles further on the highway vs. the interstate on a tank of gas. I love this bike. No matter whom I go riding with, they always have to fill up first. The V Strom 650 might have the longest range of any bike.

Upgrades/Accessories:  Cee baileys windsheild, Suzuki luggage, V Strom tank pad, And Hand Guards
